We added a splash of yellow to this 2021 T6.1 SWB custom camper conversion. See all of the features in this video and read more about it below.
This conversion came to us as a straight SWB panel van. The VW Worx team set to work and stripped it out ready for conversion.
Holes were cut for windows and a pop-top roof before the camper was double insulated, ply and carpet lined. The floor was ply lined and runners were fitted for the California sliding bed system. The floor was finished in a hard wearing vinyl.
The finished conversion was fitted with custom, CNC cut, units finished in a mushroom colour gloss lightweight ply board with oak tops. As always, we maximised the storage space available with plenty of drawers and cupboards.
Splashbacks were finished in yellow to match the flash on the radiator grille. Units incorporated a 2 burner hob and stainless steel sink, a low voltage fridge and plenty of LED lights.
The front seats were finished in a grey leather with cross stitch and the California rear seats were trimmed to match.
The front seat also had a swivel so that it can face into the cabin. With this feature, the sliding rear seats and a table that clips on to the sliding rail it is great for dining as well as relaxing.
The rear seats slide and fold flat to make a 3/4 double bed.
The unique VW Worx design bed board pulls down to reveal a memory foam mattress in the pop-top to provide another good sized double bed.
The rear of the camper offers plenty of cargo space with a removable parcel shelf and access to the utilities, the wardrobe and an outdoor shower.
Inside, this camper has all of the creature comforts like a diesel heater, wi-fi, black out blinds and reading lamps, outside it has upgraded alloy wheels and side running bars.
There is also a Fiamma wind out awning to offer some protection from the weather, this has been fitted with an LED light strip so you can sit out day or night. Outlets also provide a gas barbecue point and TV connections for a full awning.
As well as mains hook-up and traditional battery charging, this camper has also been fitted with a solar panel to top the battery up when wild camping.
The pop-top roof also benefits from roof bars to carry those extra necessities when travelling. If you would like to find out more information about this camper or would like to discuss your own requirements, please drop us a line and we can arrange a design consultation.
