Paul, the electrician from PMZ electrical in Congleton, brought his silver 2018 T6 to VW Worx for a conversion from a panel van to a multi-purpose vehicle.
Paul wanted to be able to take his family out in his van, but still be able to use it to carry his tools and equipment for work. We started by removing the plywood panelling, the old double passenger seat and the drivers seat.
Holes were cut ready to fit genuine VW opening side windows and the vehicle was sound proofed and insulated. We fitted rear seatbelt pillar mounts and a new rear bulk head with window in front of the wheel arches.
We fitted a genuine VW heavy duty rubber floor with tie down anchor points and floor fixings for removable rear seats. The sides were panelled and the van was lined with grey 3 way stretch carpet.
Manufacturers sliding side windows were fitted to both sides of the van. Inside, the headlining was finished in a grey suede.
We replaced the double passenger seat with a single captains seat and re-covered the front seats to match the new rear seats.
The rear seats offer the versatility to have them fully installed to carry the family, fold them down for extra storage or completely remove them when working on those large jobs.
In the rear of the van, Paul wanted to be able to store his step ladders under the floor so that they are kept out of the way.
Two sets of steps can be neatly tucked away.
There are two large heavy duty plywood drawers to carry all of those electrical accessories in an organised way. Above the drawers is a thick ply top covered in heavy duty Altro flooring. The sides have also been ply-lined and carpeted to keep all of the electrical items protected.
Paul's van really is now a multipurpose vehicle ready for work and leisure and can be used as his daily run about too.
