Rich and Dani from Northwich brought their 2019 long wheel base VW T6 van to VW Worx for a full luxury conversion.
When it arrived with us, the van was in a very clean condition and fitted with a metal bulk head, grill on the back window and ply lining.
Following a few weeks undergoing it's full transformation in our workshops, the one time workhorse came out as a luxury camper van with all of the trimmings.
Outside, the camper had been fitted with a full set of side windows, a low profile pop-top roof , 19" diamond cut alloy wheels, black side running bars. As we fitted the camper with underbody water and waste tanks, there was an external water fill up under the mains hook-up and on the other side was a mains awning power socket, a shower outlet and a gas barbecue point.
Inside, this camper is fully loaded too with plenty of cupboards, LED lighting throughout, a low voltage fridge with ice box, a gas oven, diesel heater and a sink with double gas burner. Units were custom made and cut by our CNC cutter, they were finished in a carbon grey with an oak counter top, table and wardrobe face. The splash backs were finished in a paler grey.
In this conversion we fitted a genuine VW California bed system which fits into rails in the floor to give plenty of flexibility as to where the seat is positioned. Underneath is a huge metal storage drawer.
When the seat is locked in its furthest forward position, there is a huge amount of load space in the back, easily enough to fit in bicycles or ski equipment.
When folded flat, the seat makes a good sized comfortable bed using the rear parcel shelf with fitted mattress.
All of the seats have been trimmed in beautiful soft black real leather and the double passenger seat has been fitted with an original Rusty Lee swivel system so that it can be turned to face into the camper.
The bed board is finished with a light grey quilted headlining with touch LED lights built in and being a long wheel base provides a vast space above when in the lowered position. All of the side and rear windows have mosquito nets and blackout blinds.
Even though it was a cold snowy day when they came to collect it, the whole family were really excited to start planning their summer camping adventures in their new custom camper van.
